Sorry for the delay, guys. Really. Not cool of me to promise a page and then disappear off the face of the earth for two weeks. I barely slept, so that’s my excuse. I’ll… try to sleep more… I guessssss…? Um.
And it strikes like lightning! Thanks Aviv! Now get some sleep.
Their motto seems to be “Anything can be a snake if you try hard enough!”
Yes that’s their whole life I think. Sad, really.
Oh, the Freudian theories I could come up with about these two…
Anyway, how about you just keep making comics when you can and want to and no sooner, and I’ll just keep checking back periodically and it will be a pleasant surprise when there’s a new comic and I’ll just squee with glee and we’ll call it a deal? No apologies necessary–I’m totally getting way more than I put in, and you’re awesome, and that’s pretty much how it is. Also, sleep is awesome, too. I’d rather have infrequent comics and know you’re doing okay. This story can wait for your personal story to not always be a cliffhanger, eh?
And yet I feel obligated (to the story? to the readers? to myself? who knows) to produce them faster. I just can’t help myself. But you are right, of course. I should take it easy.
Also, yes, don’t stress yourself (giant snakes are stress enough).
I feel you. Falling behind on personal projects sucks. Just try and not push yourself too hard.
And thanks for yet another awesome page!
Like I said before, Aviv, consider us an army of friends standing at your back rather than an impatient, shuffling audience. I totally understand why you want to update the comic while it’s burning like lines of fire in your imagination; but it needs to be done your own golden way and not rushed. Michelangelo took four years to do the Sistine Chapel ceiling, and he had a Pope telling him to hurry; I think we rank below Pope, so take your time.
As eager as I am to see another page – it’s your comic and your pace. It won’t do any good to rush things. There are so many things I need to do all day – visting the page at the end of it and have a new page waiting for me is not taken for granted but a welcome bonus. What you have here is not just another daily strip but a piece of art. Hope, you have a chill weekend.
Worth the wait!
I totally agree with Vosla – this is art, elevated above ordinary sequential storytelling. You seem to be moving into territory where only Moebius has ventured. Take care of yourself. Finish this next year or whatever.
Lightning snake! D00d!
Totally worth a T-shirt design !
Holy shit. Yes.
Not a bad idea. I have some idea how it could look like… I have no time for that right now but I’ll keep it in mind. And sorry for not updating, again, in so long!
S’okay. All I ask is to know the rest of the story- whenever it comes!
I second that.
I have some years left, I can wait.
We are still here, and the Snake is still Stupid. And the world is being stupid too.
Though it seems, the world got a lot stupider within the last months.
Sometimes, I wish to go mining asteroids instead.
Snake? SNAKE? SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!
(My humblest apologies. Couldn’t help it. )
Hope all is well with you, Aviv!
I’m busy, with little time to make comics. Hopefully my schedule will ease up a bit soon.
Oh, we aren’t complaining, just checking in. I check the page often and sometimes click the links. Being busy is a good thing. Being happy is also good. Hope you are enjoying life.
What Scrod said!
I second… errr… third that !
oh ma goshes. just read through the entire thing, from start to finish. was supposed to be working… but it was totally worth it! I’ve been fiddling with doing little comics for a long time now, and I’ve got some stories, but you’ve really inspired me to just go for it. Maybe. Sometime.
Seriously, this comic series is kickass. Think I’ll have to buy the first three books. Thanks man!
Hey, you’re welcome! Thanks for reading!
Stupid Snake is like a lighthouse shining from far away across a dark ocean. It will bring lost travelers to land for many years.
Just watched a magnific thunderstorm. Had to think of you and this page.
Do you consider to sell PDF-versions of your comic books ? Maybe I missed it; just found printed versions. I have no physical room left for books.
Oops! This was intended as a reply to Aviv, not Scrod.
This is a fine idea. Thanks for suggesting it!
I’ll add all three books to my Etsy and Gumroad as soon as possible.
Good news – GOBLINS is back. He had similar issues and took off time to heal up and recover. Maybe it is a sign that things are getting better all over, and yes, PDF versions are a great idea.
Seen that, too. Did you know Howard Tayler of Schlock Mercenary also has anxiety problems ? Is it me or is the creative mind vulnerable to such troubles ? Or is the creative work an outlet ? It was for me until my artistic self died under years of untreated dysthymia.
Argh, I dunno. I am creative but unstable, but I know tons of successful people who knock out novel after novel without breaking a sweat. Maybe some of us are ‘overclocking’ ourselves like computers, burning our candle at both ends to get that image or phrase just right, doing things that should be out of our reach but somehow aren’t.
